Pusat Asasi or Centre of Foundation Studies was established in November 2009 with the aim of preparing students to pursue degree programmes in critical areas in UiTM and other public Institutions of Higher Learning (IPTA).

The academic predegree programmes offered are :

• PI005, PI007 Asasi Undang-undang (Law)
• PI009 Asasi Kejuruteraan (Engineering)
• PI020 Asasi TESL (Teaching English Second Language)
• PI080 Asasi Sains (Science)

All students are enrolled as full time and are eligible for a scholarship from Kementerian Pengajian Tinggi Malaysia.

Lots of opportunities to further studies in various critical areas upon successful completion of this programme. For those interested to do Medical and Biological Sciences should enrol for Asasi Sains and for those interested in Engineering and Technology should enrol for Asasi Kejuruteraan. Asasi Undang-undang is focused on Law education and Asasi TESL is on education of Teaching English as Second Language.
