Foundation in Science (PI080) or Asasi Sains is a full-time preparatory pre-degree programme to prepare students for entrance to Science and Technology degree programmes in Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) or other public universities (UA). The duration of the program is two semesters with 25 credits per semester. The foundation programme prepares students with a strong science background required in pursuing degree programmes.

Upon completion of this programme, students may pursue degree programmes at various Science and Technology related Faculties in UiTM such as:

1. Faculty of Medicine
2. Faculty of Dentistry
3. Faculty of Pharmacy
4. Faculty of Applied Sciences
5. Faculty of Health Sciences
6. Faculty of Sports Science and Recreation
7. Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics
8. Faculty of Plantation and Agrotechnology
9. Faculty of Architecture, Planning and Surveying
10. Faculty of Civil Engineering
11. Faculty of Electrical Engineering
12. Faculty of Chemical Engineering
13. Faculty of Mechanical Engineering

Students wishing to pursue degree programmes at the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry, or Pharmacy in UiTM must score a CGPA of at least 3.50. They must also score a Band 3 for their MUET with minimum of B for all Science and Mathematics subjects in their SPM examination. Most other degree programmes require a minimum CGPA of 2.50 and MUET score of Band 2.

Foundation in Science students may even apply to other non-science degree programmes in UiTM at the following faculties:

3. Faculty of Communication and Media Studies
4. Faculty of Information Management
5. Faculty of Business Management
6. Faculty of Film, Theatre and Animation.
7. Faculty of Accountancy

University Requirement:

Candidates must:

1. Be Malaysian citizen with Bumiputera status.
2. Possess at least five (5) credits including Bahasa Melayu and pass History.

Programme Requirement:

Candidate who wish to enter this programme must fulfill the university requirement and possess the minimum qualifications as follows:

Excellent result in SPM or its equivalent achieving at least ONE (1) subject with A- grades and THREE (3) subjects with B grades from the following 4 subjects:

1. Physics
2. Chemistry
3. Biology
4. Additional Mathematics

Candidates must also get a minimum grade of B for English AND a C grade for Bahasa Melayu.
